Postcard: Teen Pregnancy Affects Graduation Rates

Building the Boeing 787 Case Study essay. The Boeing Company’s Key Developments and Management Strategies. The Boeing Company is headquartered in Chicago since 2001 and has four business segments: Commercial Airplanes, Missile Aircraft and Missile Systems, Space and pregnancy dropout rates, Communication, and what are the types theories to literary m. h., Phantom Works (“Boeing in Brief”, 2012). For the present day, the teenage pregnancy dropout company employs more than 170,000 people across the USA and in 70 other countries (“Boeing in Brief”, 2012). The company was forced to merge into bigger operations and enter into coproduction with other entities around the world, owing to the cost reduction and avoidance of the spread of the commercial and economic risks. Japan is the main country cooperator with the Boeing Company (Tung, 2001). Throughout its history, the company was challenged with the huge competition and castles the middle, some of the competitors latter became its alliances, such as McDonnell and Douglas, Rockwell International, and North American Aviation (Yenne, 2005). The Boeing Company’s history can be split on the two main periods, which are piston era and dropout rates, jet era (Pelletier, 2010). During the what four types of literary theories according abrams? war years, the Boeing Company focused on building military airplanes and teenage pregnancy dropout rates, was the first to introduce mail delivery by Herman air (Pelletier, 2010). Following methods were used in teenage pregnancy dropout rates the course of research: a) data collection, which helped to days great, describe the major historical events, which shaped the company; b) analysis, which helped to teenage dropout rates, explain negative and positive outcomes of the company’s taken decisions; c) comparison, which helped to define the Essay Oldest Rock Found on Earth negative and dropout rates, positive sides of the results; d) evaluation, which helped to determine effective economic solutions to the existing problems. Among the biggest technological and competition’s challenges, which the Boeing Company faced, were its major losses in Oldest Rock Found 1930s, 1990s and 2000s and employees’ strikes (Pelletier, 2010).

In order to shorten production time and eliminate economical risks in building 787 the Boeing Company merged into outsourcing management (Norris Wagner, 2009). However, after having been stood up by the foreign suppliers, the Boeing’s employees had to fix received gaps in the constructional materials, which caused delivery delays and further losses (Norris Wagner, 2009). Moreover, the teenage dropout rates company did not want to lay off the development and certification of the 787 program or any other aircraft productions that were currently implemented (Turim Gates, 2009). Therefore, the following question should be answered on the grounds of chronological report: a) Do the days great depression financial benefits of outsourcing overweight the management risks that the company had already experienced? b) How can the company prevent and solve management problems? c) How should company respond to the criticisms of exporting American job overseas by outsourcing greater percentage of its work? The Company’s initial steps and current technological developments were studied to rates, answer abovementioned questions. Main strategies of the manufacturing operations, marketing activities for effective promotion are to be emphasized regarding the research questions. From the First Single-Engine Airplane to the Greatest Numbers of Jets.

In 1916, a timber businessman William Edward Boeing together with a naval lieutenant Conrad G. Westervelt launched the Pacific Aero Company and built his first plane the Melville BW (Pelletier, 2010). In 1917, the company was renamed as the teenage rates Boeing Airplane Company, and its starting capital was $ 100,000. 998 of the 1000 shares belonged to what four m. h., Boeing (Pelletier, 2010). Despite of the 28 hired people’s efforts, BW did not sale, which made Boeing use his personal fortune to pay the wages (Pelletier, 2010). But the European zone demand for the military, supporting equipment, the dropout rates first Air Show of the Cs models, and what of literary according to literary historian m. h., contract with the Army to rebuild and modernize 354 British and Havilland DH-4S helped Boeing to avoid shutdown and sustained the company during early 1920s (Pelletier, 2010). Boeing was the first to get a contract with the US Postal Department to carry mail at a distance of 1,918 miles, and teenage pregnancy dropout, this helped to create a new root between Chicago and San Francisco (Pelletier, 2010). Therefore, in 1928 was remarked by the creation of the Boeing Airplane Transport Company, incorporating both the airplane manufacturing and commercial transport (Yenne, 2005). Herman Melville Essay? Boeing started constructing triple-engine 80 models, because of the growing demand to carry passengers on the mail planes. Front part of the fuselage was initially constructed from wood and could carry 450kg (Yenne, 2005).

The success of the Pratt Whitney Wasps used in those 12 seated partly-metal, partly-wood biplane was a key point of the new group formation under the name of the United Aircraft and Transportation Corporation (UATC) in 1929 (Pelletier, 2010). Nevertheless of the biggest order in civil aviation at a total coast of $ 4,000,000 to pregnancy dropout rates, construct twin-engine monoplane for ten passengers, there came the first statistics of the airplane crushes (Pelletier, 2010). UATC split into three parts due to the Roosevelt’s regulation to allow the postal service for the private firms under certain conditions (Yenne, 2005). Boeing was left with $ 582,000, from which the company had to hundred days great depression, pay salaries and other costs and make downsizing to dropout rates, 700 employees (Pelletier, 2010). Although Boeing had shortages and retired from the business, the company had built a total number of ban on, 1,615 aircrafts, the number that was 300 more comparing to teenage pregnancy rates, the previous year (Pelletier, 2010). Throughout the Essay years of the World War II and Early Cold American War, the Boeing Company responded to the need for bombers and gained unique financial strength (Kinkerdall, 2007). Improvements to the aircraft equipment included electrical systems, self sealing tanks, engine covers cooled by shutters of adjustable temperature (Pelletier, 2010). Teenage Pregnancy Rates? The production range was broadened with the manufacturing of the is Murder turbine models helicopters and diversified with experimental boats Aqua-Jet and teenage pregnancy, Little Squirt in the early 1960s (Pelletier, 2010).

The growth of the 700 family - the Essay on Earth tailless, supersonic aircrafts, which were capable of flying at high subsonic speeds, came between 1970 and 1990 (Yenne, 2005). Pregnancy Dropout? Meanwhile, the Herman Essay company introduced different shuttle designs implemented in the 90-meter-long craft fanjets and rocket engines, which composed boosters (Pelletier, 2010). The Boeing Company gained first position in the aeronautical industry after primarily studies in the International Space Station (Pelletier, 2010). Teenage? Therefore, the Herman Melville total turnover reached 75% (Yenne, 2005). The company became the Boeing Commercial Airplane Group in 1996 with the number of employees of 87,000 people (Pelletier, 2010). Due to economic growth of the Asia-Pacific region, the Boeing Company delivered 375 jetliners comparing with its competitor Airbus, which number was 182 (Tung, 2001). Therefore, the Boeing Company invented the concept of the Sonic Cruiser, code-named “Glacier”, which could fly with the teenage pregnancy 98% of the speed of four types of literary according to literary m. h., sound to shorten travel times (Turner, 2011).

From “Glacier” to 7E7 and than 787 Program. In 1991, United Airlines challenged the teenage pregnancy Boeing Company to come up with a transpacific aircraft with 600 or 700 seats (Norris Wagner, 2009). New Large Airplane project was initiated with studying single-deckers and double-deckers in Factoria (Norris Wagner, 2009). What Are The Types Of Literary Theories According To Literary M. H. Abrams?? 747 stretch designs were analyzed with the teenage dropout rates hundred alternative evaluations (Pelletier, 2010). What Are The Four Theories To Literary Historian M. H. Abrams?? Joint studies involved very large commercial transition, but the company quit in 1995 (Norris Wagner, 2009).

During that year, the Boeing Company tried to combine 777 technology and 747 baselines into the project (Norris Wagner, 2009). The adoption of 777 style features forced the Boeing Company to increase costs to about $ 7 billion (Turner, 2011). Lower-power engines were required as composite materials. They weighed less and that meant further reduction of the overall aircraft size and landing gear (Norris Wagner, 2009). Pregnancy Rates? Moreover, fuel consumption per days great, passenger was 15-20% less than in teenage dropout rates conventional aircrafts of the same size (Pelletier, 2010). Essay On Why Abortion? In 1996, Boeing was completing certification of the 737 family and planning to increase its production rates by twenty four airplanes in two years time (Norris Wagner, 2009). But in 1997 company’s manufacturing melt down forced it to write the biggest charge in dropout its history of days, $ 2,6 billion and downsize up to twelve employees by the end of the next year (Turner, 2011). However, the Boeing’s engineer Stuart Buchan encouraged internal systems’ suppliers to come with their own budget and twelve engineers of the teenage pregnancy dropout Japanese Mitsubishi were included into the team (Norris Wagner, 2009).

A significant company’s change during that period of 1997 came with the merges of four the most important aerospace companies to the Boeing Company, namely McDonnell, Douglas, North American Aviation, and Rockwell International (Yenne, 2005). In February 2000, the Boeing Company was hit by strike, because negotiations with the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace broke down (Norris Wagner, 2009). This event in the Boeing’s history is called as one of the crucial crisis (Turim Gates, 2009). Oldest? Therefore, company started the ninety-day study after the 787 program’s presentation, which described structural organization on the theoretical benefits of composite wings (Yenne, 2005). Teenage Dropout Rates? This study was focused on castles from, the main projects, which were code-named after the U.S. national parks: a) Project Yellowstone, which described the possibilities of the 85% speed of teenage pregnancy rates, flight close to french ban on, the speed of sound; b) High-speed design Glacier and c) Blended-wing body design inherited with the McDonnell merger Project Redwood (Norris Wagner, 2009).

The latter project emphasized the main focus on building essentially flying wing without conventional fuselage. It was shut down because of the lack of financing (Yenne, 2005). The $ 4 billion plan for the project “Glacier” included the design and construction of a larger wing with 7% more area and pregnancy dropout, 8% bigger span (Norris Wagner, 2009). The Middle Age? “Glacier” project was filled for teenage pregnancy, application on January 2001 and accompanied sketch of the aircraft’s description contained detailed information of the type of hundred great, wings and level of the pregnancy cruise speeds (Norris Wagner, 2009). The project became known as the “Sonic Cruiser” (Yenne, 2005). In June 2001, the Boeing Company brought 1, 8 meters long simulation to the Paris Air Show (Turner, 2001). The planned aircraft was meant to hundred days, be built largely of composite materials with its wing placed farther back on the fuselage (Turner, 2001). The Boeing Company’s vice chairmen described the project as not environmentally friendly and British media published these remarks at the first place (Norris Wagner, 2009). Moreover, the pregnancy seriousness of the possible environment impact was dismissed due to the constructional inaccuracies. However, Japan Aircraft Industries rejected an offer from Airbus and joined the Boeing Company on a deal of the centered composite technology approach (Norris Wagner, 2009). This action is called the major key in the Boeing’s development (Turim Gates, 2009).

The future of Essay Abortion is Murder, commercial aviation radically changed on September 11, 2001. In December 2002, after major delays in teenage pregnancy dropout production and its reduction to 50%, the Boeing Commercial Airlines’ then president and CEO Alan Mulally announced that company stopped building Sonic Cruiser (Turner, 2011). Tough business environment dedicated the rules, and Boeing stated that it losses comprised $ 10 billion and castles the middle age, 20% drop of revenue (Norris Wagner, 2009). Teenage? However, the company did not fulfill its promise and continued building of the Sonic Cruiser, but under the different name (Pelletier, 2010) In 2003, civil aviation orders remained on the same level and delivery of 281 aircrafts showed the worst results, since 1993 (Pelletier, 2010). The workforce was 157, 000 compared to the 231, 000 five years previously (Yenne, 2005). However, as the 2003 began Boeing changed the Super Efficient designation of 7E7, two initial versions of Essay on Why Abortion is Murder, which were focused on teenage pregnancy, the finalist’s heritage of the Essay Sonic Cruiser (Norris Wagner, 2009). 7E7 models were filled for the new types of certificates and became the first new Boeing model since 777 (Norris Wagner, 2009).

Never seen before look of the 7E7 model was reinforced by the swept flight deck windows, integrally blended winglets, and narrow-cord previously outlined fin (Norris Wagner, 2009). The name for the project was given after fan-jet engines developed by General Electric, Pratt Whitney, and Rolls-Royce (Pelletier, 2010). Teenage Pregnancy Dropout Rates? On December 2003, the board gave “go-ahead” for Rock Found, the plane (Yenne, 2005). And after the teenage pregnancy dropout rates first order, 50 planes came in April 2004 from All Nippon Airways (ANA), the plane received the name: the Herman Melville 787 Dreamliner (Pelletier, 2010). The design for the 787 turned to be highly complex due to the widespread use of the composite materials (50% of the total weight) and 3D digital model accessibility by the sub-contractors involved in the program (Pelletier, 2010). On April 2005, the Boeing Company announced that it has 237 options and pregnancy dropout, firm orders (Yenne, 2005). Castles From The Middle Age? The same time the Boeing Company won orders from Air Canada and teenage rates, Air India (Turim Gates, 2009). Only vertical fin was manufactured by the Puget Sound near Tacoma, while pre-installing of all wiring and deducting were required from the Boeing’s partners (Turim Gates, 2009). On July 2007, the first assembled 787 was shown to the 15,000 employees and customers at Everett (Turim Gates, 2009). However, it was not known that the structure was a hollow shell and wing slats were painted wood (Turim Gates, 2009). In 2008, the Boeing’s employees went on Essay on Why, strike, because of the encountered errors in the aircraft sections delivered by the different suppliers (Pelletier, 2010).

No-strike agreement was negotiated between the Boeing Company and the Mechanics Union, ensuring that a second 787 final-assembly line will go to Everett instead of Charleston (Gates, 2009). However, unsettled issues ended up in failure, and Boeing announced Charleston as the final assembly plant (Turim Gates, 2009). On November 2009, the wing-body joint fix was completed, and the wing stress test was repeated in teenage dropout the Charleston 750,000 square-foot complex (Turim Gates, 2009). The airplane was given the green light to fly (Turim Gates, 2009). Total of six planes were included into what are the four theories to literary, the flight-test program to obtain certificate (“Building the Dream: Boeing 787”). After the aircraft introduction, the Boeing’s sales showed growth to a total 1,423 orders for the year, including 346 for the 787 models (Turim Gates, 2009). In 2012, the pregnancy Government approved a compensation agreement between the castles from the middle age plane maker and dropout rates, the state-owned carrier for Essay Abortion is Murder, delivery delays (Agreement Clears Way, 2012). More than three years of delivery delays made Air India ask for $ 840, 000 million of pregnancy rates, compensation (Agreement Clears Way, 2012). Air India will begin receiving 27 ordered 787s (Agreement Clears Way, 2012).

On July 2012, the Boeing Company reported net income of Herman Melville Essay, $ 967 million (Boukamp, 2012). Pregnancy Rates? Revenue jumped to 21% and reached $ 20 billion comparing with the $ 16, 54 billion a year ago (Boukamp, 2012). What Are The Four Theories According Abrams?? All those incomes are the results of the teenage rates effective implementation of the marketing activities and management concepts. Days? The Boeing Company uses sufficient promotional tools to attract great numbers of customers. Air Shows and Boeing Integration Centers as the Best Promotion Steps. 15,000 of aerospace enthusiasts are engaged in pregnancy rates a production launch and millions in a public air shows, promoted by the Boeing Company (Calder, 2012). Is Murder? The Company elaborates immersive simulations for pilot training and teenage dropout rates, 3D complexes as a part of advanced manufacturing to develop the castles the middle pre-air show environments (Calder, 2012). Teenage Dropout? Multimedia used in mini-customer exhibits became a key element in the Boeing Company’s marketing and Rock Found, business development efforts (Paul Kapoor, 2008).

These efforts included building of Boeing Integration Centers (BICs) for the defense groups’ customers, the Customer Experience Center (CEC) and Dreamliner Gallery for its commercial airline customers (Calder, 2012). When military orders reached 97% of the company’s production, it integrated system-to-system approach of dropout, battle planning exhibits to demonstrate the network of enabled operations through the created space (Calder, 2012). 20,000 visitors attended these centers, which contain four modeling labs with large screens and theater-style seating (Paul Kappor, 2008). High-ceilinged solution studio facilitates communication between customers and depression, sales/marketing team (Calder, 2012). Teenage Rates? Aircraft’s simulated models with the flat screens behind them are reinforced by the maps, which display all of the hijab customer’s daily flight in action (Calder, 2012). Design marketing campaigns, corporate identity programs, and promotional materials are developed by the Airline Marketing Service Group and Commercial Airplanes (Gunter, 2005).

On December 2007, Boeing’s team successfully achieved the first virtual construction of the 787using digital model (Pelletier, 2010). This virtual assembly permitted engineers to teenage dropout rates, distinguish 5000 odd-elements from the different sub-contractors, which corrected when the real aircraft will be built (Pelletier, 2010). Boeing magazine “Frontier” provides the latest information of the Boeing company projects, as well as historical outlines of its business (Pelletier, 2010). The Seattle Newspaper keeps all the data about the Boeing Company updated. These measures are taken in order to attract more customers and partners to the business. However, the Boeing Company’s total concentration on the promotional and Melville Essay, management steps have brought negative results on its reputation and financing (Norris Wagner, 2009).

The Boeing Company’s Manufacturing Operations. Principal activities are carried out by business groups Commercial Airplanes and Integrated Defense Systems (Yenne, 2005). In 2002, the latter combined all the capabilities and programs of the former Military Aircraft Missile Systems Group and the Boeing Space Communications Group (Yenne, 2005). Production lines of the 700 family models (737, 747, 767 and 777) are manufactured in Everett, Renton, and Long Beach (Pelletier, 2010). Part of the Boeing Company, known as Boeing Aerospace Support, performs the actions, which are bound to reduce life-cycle costs and teenage pregnancy, increase the effectiveness of the Essay Rock Found aircraft, namely: aircraft maintenance, modification and pregnancy dropout, repair, training for aircrews, and maintenance staff (Evans, 2008). “AS People System” is highly structured process, which ensures that employees, who comprise supporting teams, understand priorities and hijab, expectations, and have training, knowledge, and tools to perform their job (Evans, 2008). The supplier partners of the huge composite materials spanned the globe.

The Boeing Company assigned to 3 Japanese firms, which are Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, and Fuji Heavy, 35% of the design and manufacturing for the latest project 787 Dreamliner (Carbaugh, 2011). Therefore, the Boeing Company performs the final assembly only in three days time (Turner, 2011). Japanese companies in return to the contract with the Boeing company secure a virtual monopoly in jetliners sale to pregnancy dropout, Japan (Carbaugh, 2011). Companies, which provide Boeing’s work outsourcing, are responsible for french, the following manufacturing of the aircraft sections. See table below:

Aircraft’s parts it produces. Mid-fuselage, wing box, wing trailing edge. Rudder, vertical fin, fairing panels. Wing tip, tail cone. Inboard flap, movable trailing edge. Teenage? Engine pylon, fairing main landing gear door. Main landing gear, nose landing gear. Table 1. Countries, from which Boeing outsources its work (Carbaugh, 2011).

Therefore, abovementioned table shows that only 20% of the work is Melville being done by the Boeing Company (Pelletier, 2010). But it is quite true to state that the rates company runs into additional responsibility for the suppliers’ actions and possible delays. Chronological comparison helped to determine that the risks the company undertakes are far greater than the what according historian m. h. abrams? benefits of outsourcing (Norris Wagner, 2009). Comparison between Boeing’s Benefits and Risks of Outsourcing. The Boeing’s work outsourcing has brought the following initial benefits to the company: a) cost savings, because foreign suppliers decrease the time required to build the Boeing’s jets by more than 50%. The company was never under obligation to repay its vendors whether the outcome of the teenage rates program (Turner, 2011); b) implementation of wide initiatives, since the Boeing company has military production activities and other 700 family lines (Norris Wagner, 2009); c) better access to the new methodology and technology, because the Melville company is fully focused on the marketing operations and uses high-quality multimedia assets to promote its products and services (Calder, 2012). However, the company faced the following risks due to its commitment to outsourcing management: a) loss of control, which caused the company to schedule unnecessary negotiations about the place of the following assembly implementation (Fetters-Walp, 2010); b) difficulty in bringing business together, since three thousand employees faced the challenges of fixing inaccuracies, which were failed to be done by teenage pregnancy the foreign suppliers (Turim Gates, 2009); c) additional liability was endangered owing to the suppliers’ delivery delays when 47 customers worldwide have ordered 683 airplanes at the cost of $ 110, 000 billion (Bair, 2007).

Negative outcomes caused the employee’s strikes during the most critical crisis after September the Herman Essay 11 th and at the most important period in 2008 just before long-expected certification of the 787 line (Turim Gates, 2009). Moreover, the company’s liability for teenage pregnancy dropout rates, Air India for more than three years of delivery imposed compensation approval by the Government (Agreement Clears Way, 2012). Therefore, the risks that the Boeing Company undertakes with outsourcing overweight the advantages of the traditional management concepts. Measures to Prevent and Solve the what are the to literary historian m. h. Boeing Company’s Management and pregnancy dropout, Financial Problems. The Boeing Company developed the traditional supply chain, where more than two parties are linked by the flow of manufactured products (Carbaugh, 2011).

Due to outsourcing the U.S. Melville? workers are forced to compete with foreign workers, although foreign workers cannot afford to be paid less because of their lower cost of living (Hira R. Hira A., 2008). Teenage Pregnancy Rates? Outsourcing was the main cause for the Boeing Company’s highest charge in the history of $ 2, 6 billion after the twelve thousand of the skilled employees were downsized (Norris Wagner, 2009). Due to this traditional prospective the company encountered particular problem areas emphasized by historian the management indicators and which should be mitigated in the following order. See the Table 2 below. Lack of effective communication (some components were not installed into dropout rates, the fuselage by on Why Abortion the Italian supplier and instructions had only Italian context (Turim Gates, 2009)) Delays in transportation of manufactured products (like in cases with Air India and All Nippon Airways (Agreement Clears Way, 2012)) Employment of the additional sufficiently qualified staff would eliminate the need to teenage pregnancy rates, move geographically closer to the supplier. Defects in Essay production (like in the case when 0,3 inch gap was found at the joint between the nose and cockpit section and fuselage section, manufactured by the United Kingdom and Japan respectively (Turim Gates, 2009)) Corrective actions required (Boeing employees had to disconnect and reconnect those parts, loosing precious time (Norris Wagner, 2009) ) Adapt continuous improvement (since the Boeing company is not under financial responsibility of repayment to its suppliers it should elaborate effective frame work with the dropout rates vendors to raise their ethical and financial awareness) Internally dispersed communication structures (manufacturing conditions and errors caused employees strike (Pelletier, 2010)) Internal communication difficulties (negotiations being held to move manufacturing area from Charleston to Everett (Turim Gates, 2009)) Consolidate staff into single communication department (arrangement of the hijab sufficient square footage plant will be sufficient for productive and effective work) Various suppliers for the single supply parts ( all of the teenage suppliers manufacture movable and immovable parts of the age wing (Carbaugh, 2011) ) Lack of the quality efficiency from suppliers’ sides (manufacturing defects, which Boeing employees should fix) Same suppliers should supply various parts ( each supplier should be responsible for its manufacturing action process ) Table 2. Problems, which occur in the Boeing’s and suppliers’ chain reactions and measures to pregnancy dropout, prevent them (Carbaugh, 2011).

Abovementioned measures can improve the Boeing Company’s financial and economic conditions, because they are sufficiently integrated and reproduce manufacturing circle inside their operations particularities. Theories According To Literary M. H. Abrams?? To address outsourcing criticism, the Boeing Company can impose contract termination on the supplier’s service quality failure; increase the incentives for greater service quality; increase the share for financial risks (Hira R. Hira A., 2008). Moreover, improving of the productivity should be a part of teenage dropout rates, cost reduction program and french, the contract should include conditional sections for rates, the better measuring results (Hira R. Hira A., 2008). Fundamental Points in the Boeing Company’s Development. For over the century of its existence, the Melville Boeing Company has grown into a major airline corporation, which provides aircrafts’ manufacturing and commercial transportation. It was the first company to teenage pregnancy, gain the priority of delivering mail by air, as well as the leader of the military jets’ production. Hundred Days Great? Moreover, it gained the first position owing to teenage pregnancy rates, the primary studies in the Aerospace Industry. Technologies development and market demand challenged the company to Essay on Why is Murder, use multimedia tools in the simulated training labs and galleries, which perspective was to pregnancy dropout rates, reinforce the effectiveness of the public air shows. The Boeing Company launched the 787 project under the code name “Glacier” in order to meet demand of the Asia-Pacific’s region growth. To overrun Airbus in what are the four theories to literary historian abrams? their long-lasting competition the Boeing Company went into rates, outsourcing management. This action was taken due to the merges of the most important aerospace companies into Melville Essay, the Boeing Corporation.

The 787 program was designated to provide the possibility for teenage dropout rates, the aircraft to fly as far as 8,500 miles without refueling. These conditions were possible if the aircraft’s weight could be reduced on 20% by equipment of the from composite materials. Integration of 747, 737 and 777 sketch designs in pregnancy dropout rates the 787’s construction required funds increasing on 7%. To validate the project effectiveness, the company went through implementing different designs specification of the same program under the different names, namely project “Glasier”, 7E7 program and 787 Dreamliner. In the course of 787 Dreamliner creation, the Boeing Company faced critical crisis of Essay on Why Abortion, employees’ strikes and budget melt downs. Moreover, outsourcing management caused financial and economic hazards for the company, such as delivery delays to the potential customers due to the manufacturing inaccuracies, which had to be fixed in the shortest periods.

In order to address its outsourcing problems the rates company should make amendments into the manufacturing process. Additional financial responsibility should be imposed on the vendors in order to eliminate the effects of the french ban on hijab financial and economic risks.

Skeptical Views On Noahs Ark Essay Research. Skeptical Views On Noahs Ark Essay, Research Paper. Skeptical view of the flood myth. As skeptics have long been aware, there was no global flood in pregnancy dropout rates, the last 5000 years, a boatload of animals did not ground on Essay Abortion, so-called Mount Ararat or on any mountain, and the world’s animals are not descended from two or seven pairs of each species that lived during the third millennium BC. Nor is there any archaeological proof that a man survived a flood by being on a boat loaded with animals, food, and dropout rates drinking water.

The Noah’s Ark book summarized here does not claim historicity for Noah or the ark story, but the book does claim that some of the what four types theories according abrams?, story elements in the Ancient Near East flood were based on an actual river flood. This archaeologically attested flood of the Euphrates River has been radiocarbon dated to about 2900 BC. This flood left a few feet of pregnancy rates, yellow mud in the Sumerian city Shuruppak, the ruins of french ban on hijab, which have been found at Tel Fara about 125 miles southeast of Baghdad. Rates! Some but not all Sumerian cities also show signs of this river flood at the beginning of the Early Dynastic I period. According to the Sumerian King List, a legendary king named Ziusudra lived in Shuruppak at the time of the flood.

There was also a flood myth about king Ziusudra which includes several story elements very similar to the Genesis flood myth. Shuruppak was also the flood hero’s city according to the Epic of Gilgamesh. The flood myth in the Epic of Gilgamesh was adapted from an earlier myth, the Epic of Atrahasis which is also very similar to the Genesis flood myth. Six of ban on hijab, these Ancient Near East flood myths contain numerous distinctive story elements that are very similar to the Genesis flood myth and indicate a literary affinity or dependency on teenage pregnancy rates, a common body of myths about the flood hero Ziusudra and based on ban on hijab, the Euphrates River flood of dropout rates, 2900 BC. Parts of the original myths were physically possible, but other parts were not possible. The possible parts can be treated as an ancient legend to which mythical material was added later. However, without contemporary artifacts, it is not possible to prove how much of the original legend was true and how much was fiction based on a real flood. In the Oldest, Noah’s Ark book, the original legend is reconstructed by piecing together fragments from the various surviving editions of the teenage pregnancy dropout rates, flood myth, like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle.

This reconstruction is hundred, governed by the requirement that each story element in the legend be physically possible, technologically practical, consistent with archaeological facts, and plausible for 2900 BC. Some of the impossible story elements were mistranslations or misunderstandings, and these are corrected before including them in teenage pregnancy dropout, the reconstructed legend. The reconstructed legend is this: Ziusudra reigned for ten years as king of Shuruppak, a Sumerian city then on the Euphrates River. Ziusudra’s reign was at the end of the Jemdet Nasr period that ended with the castles the middle, flood of 2900 BC. Dropout Rates! Then as now, river barges were used for transporting cargo on the Euphrates River. This cargo included livestock, beer, wine, textiles, lumber, stone, metals, dried fish, vegetable oil, and other cargo. In June about 2900 BC during the castles from the middle age, annual inundation of the Euphrates River, the river was at crest stage. A six-day thunderstorm caused the river to pregnancy dropout, rise about what are the four according historian m. h., 15 cubits (22 feet) higher and to overflow the dropout, levees. Essay Is Murder! By the time the river began to rise, it was already too late to evacuate to the foothills of the mountains 110 miles away. Ziusudra boarded one the the barges that was already loaded with cargo being transported to market. The runaway barge floated down the Euphrates River into the Persian Gulf and grounded in an estuary at the mouth of the river.

After moving to dry land, Ziusudra offered a sacrifice to a Sumerian god on teenage dropout rates, an alter at the top of a temple ziggurat, an artificial hill. Later, story tellers mistranslated the ambiguous word for days hill as mountain. The story tellers then erroneously assumed that the nearby barge must have grounded on top of a mountain. Dropout Rates! Additional details in the reconstructed legend about Ziusudra (Noah) can be found in the Noah’s Ark book. Tour of from, subjects. For Old Testament scholars. The Noah’s Ark book reviewed here does not claim historicity for Noah or the ark story, but the book does claim that some of the dropout rates, story elements in the Ancient Near East flood were based on what are the four theories historian m. h. abrams?, an actual river flood.

This archaeologically attested flood of the Euphrates River has been radiocarbon dated to about 2900 BC. Teenage Pregnancy Rates! This flood left a few feet of yellow mud in the Sumerian city Shuruppak about 125 miles southeast of Baghdad. Some but not all Sumerian cities also show signs of this river flood at the beginning of the Early Dynastic I period. According to from, the Sumerian King List, a legendary king named Ziusudra lived in Shuruppak at the time of the flood. Rates! Zuisudra was the Sumerian Noah. There was also a flood myth about king Ziusudra which includes several story elements very similar to the Genesis flood myth. What Are The Four Types Theories According To Literary Historian M. H.! Noah was a Sumerian king of Shuruppak and son of Lamech (SU.KUR.LAM in Sumerian) who preceded Noah as king of Shuruppak. Shuruppak was the flood hero’s city according to the Epic of Gilgamesh.

The flood myth in dropout, the Epic of Gilgamesh was adapted from an of literary according historian m. h. abrams?, earlier myth, the Epic of Atrahasis which is also very similar to the Genesis flood myth. Six of these Ancient Near East flood myths contain numerous distinctive story elements that are very similar to the Genesis flood myth and indicate a literary affinity or dependency on a common body of legends about the flood hero Ziusudra (Noah) and based on teenage rates, the Euphrates River flood of 2900 BC. Parts of the age, original myths were physically possible, but other parts were not possible. The possible parts can be treated as an ancient legend to which mythical material was added later. In the Noah’s Ark book, the original legend is dropout, reconstructed by piecing together fragments from the various surviving editions of the flood story, like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. Essay Oldest Rock Found On Earth! This reconstruction is governed by the requirement that each story element in the legend be physically possible, technologically practical, consistent with archaeological facts, and plausible for pregnancy dropout 2900 BC. Some of the impossible story elements were mistranslations or misunderstandings, and castles the middle age these are corrected before including them in the reconstructed legend. These are some examples of mistakes: The ambiguous word for hill or country was mistranslated as mountain. Teenage Pregnancy! The words that identified the flood as a river flood were changed to indicate an ocean deluge.

The archaic number signs in which the Genesis 5 numbers and Noah’s age were recorded, were mistranslated which made them about ten times their original value. The “flood” of Genesis 6-7 was confused with the “waters” of Genesis 8. A journey on foot to Mount Judi in the Mountains of Ararat was confused with a journey on the water of the Persian Gulf. The numbers in the Sumerian King List were also mistraslated by an ancient scribe. The reconstructed legend is this: Ziusudra reigned for ten years as king of Shuruppak, a Sumerian city then on the Euphrates River. French! Ziusudra’s reign was at the end of the Jemdet Nasr period that ended with the flood of 2900 BC.

Then as now, river barges were used for transporting cargo on the Euphrates River. This cargo included livestock, beer, wine, textiles, lumber, stone, metals, dried fish, vegetable oil, and other cargo. In June about 2900 BC during the annual inundation of the Euphrates River, the river was at crest stage. A six-day thunderstorm caused the river to teenage rates, rise about 15 cubits (22 feet) higher and overflow the levees. What Four Of Literary According M. H.! By the pregnancy, time the river began to rise, it was already too late to evacuate to the foothills of the mountains 110 miles away. Ziusudra boarded one the the barges that was already loaded with cargo being transported to market. Great Depression! The runaway barge floated down the Euphrates River into the Persian Gulf and grounded in an estuary at the mouth of the river. After moving to dry land, Ziusudra offered a sacrifice to a Sumerian god on an alter at the top of dropout rates, a temple ziggurat, an Herman Melville Essay, artificial hill.

Later, story tellers mistranslated the ambiguous word for hill as mountain. The story tellers then erroneously assumed that the nearby barge must have grounded on top of a mountain. Additional details in the reconstructed legend about Ziusudra (Noah) can be found in the Noah’s Ark book. Answers to Creationists arguments. Noah’s flood is the keystone in teenage pregnancy rates, the belief system of the Melville Essay, young-earth creationists who believe the flood was global and teenage dropout rates created massive geological changes in the earth’s crust.

But there was no global flood. Creationist arguments are printed here in boldface: According to Genesis 7:19-20 all the high mountains under the whole sky were covered with flood water. The waters prevailed above the mountains, covering them 15 cubits deep. The reference to 15 cubits (22 feet) refers to the draft of the ark. Mountains is a mistranslation of the Hebrew word har m meaning hills in this context. The King James Version of Genesis 7:19 translates hills correctly. There is ban on hijab, no mention of draft or deep or depth in the Hebrew text of teenage pregnancy dropout, Genesis 7:20. A literal translation from Herman Hebrew is “Five ten cubits upward rose the waters and they covered the hills.” Note that “hills” is not in the same clause as cubits or rose. Pregnancy! The 15 cubits was how much the french, water rose, not how deep the water was.

The depths would be different at different places. Teenage Dropout Rates! The tops of the hills in Essay, the clause “and they covered the hills” were less than 15 cubits above the normal water level during the annual inundation and were therefore covered when the water rose 15 cubits higher. “Under the whole sky” means within Noah’s visible horizon. All of the hills within Noah’s visible horizon were covered by the water when the river rose 15 cubits. Teenage Pregnancy! If the flood water had been more than ten thousand cubits deep, the authors of Genesis would have said so. Fifteen cubits is consistent with a local flood. The flood continued for more than one year. This cannot be reconciled with a local-flood theory. If nothing could be seen but the tops of mountains after the waters had subsided for 74 days, we must conclude that the flood covered the whole earth. All commentators have assumed that the flood mentioned in four types of literary, Genesis 7:6-17 was the same as the deep “waters” that lasted more than a year. But nowhere in dropout rates, Genesis 8 is the word “flood” mentioned.

Noah’s encounters with deep water were in two phases: a river flood phase that lasted less than a week and a deep water phase that lasted a year. The river flood floated Noah’s barge down into the Persian Gulf and the barge floated about the deep water of the Gulf for a year. Melville Essay! The deep water that Noah experienced for a year was not a flood; it was the deep water of the pregnancy rates, Persian Gulf. The “tops of hills” above the water surface are commonly called islands. If only islands could be seen after the water became more shallow for Essay Oldest Rock Found on Earth 74 days, it means only dropout rates, that Noah’s barge was still several miles or more from the shore and dry land beyond the horizon. Deep water in the Persian Gulf for more than a year is consistent with a local river flood.

According to Genesis 7:11, all the fountains of the great deep were broken up. The great deep refers to oceanic depths and underground reservoirs. Presumably, the ocean basins were fractured and Essay Oldest Rock Found on Earth uplifted sufficiently to pour water over the continents. Teenage Pregnancy! This continued for five months. Such vast and prolonged geologic upheavals in the oceanic depths cannot be reconciled with a local flood theory. Instead this upheaval was global. The Hebrew word baqa translated as “broken up” in the King James version is Essay on Why is Murder, translated “burst forth” in the Revised Standard Version and New International Version. The Hebrew word mayan for “fountain” can also mean a well or spring which share a common meaning: a source of water. References to teenage, sources of french ban on hijab, sea water breaking or bursting may have meant only that water from the Persian Gulf was bursting onto the shore during a storm. Teenage Pregnancy Rates! This frequently happens along a seashore during a storm. Noah and the others could not report on oceanic depths because they would have no way of knowing what was happening at oceanic depths.

Bursting of Gulf water onto the shore during a thunderstorm was a local condition. The Ark was unusually large. For Noah to have built a vessel of such huge magnitude simply for the purpose of Essay Oldest on Earth, escaping a local flood is teenage pregnancy dropout, inconceivable. It is conceivable that Noah built a large river barge for Abortion is Murder hauling cargo. When a local river flood occurred, it is conceivable that Noah used the barge as a lifeboat. That may not have been what Noah had planned, but it certainly is conceivable that he used a large river barge to escape a local river flood. There would have been no need for an ark at all if Noah s intent was to escape a local flood. How much more sensible it would have been for teenage pregnancy dropout rates Noah to french, move to an area that would be unaffected by the local flood.

The great numbers of animals could have moved out also. The entire story borders on teenage rates, the ridiculous if the on Why, flood was confined to some section of the teenage, Near East. The fact that he built the ark “to keep their kind alive upon the face of all the earth” (Genesis 7:3) proves that the flood was global. The story would be ridiculous only if you accept the myth that Noah knew the flood was coming and built the barge solely as a lifeboat. Alternatively, if he built the barge to transport cattle and grain to market and Essay had no inkling that a flood was coming until the rain began to fall, then using the barge to escape a local flood makes sense. When the river overflowed the teenage dropout rates, levees, it was too late to evacuate to the foothills of the french ban on hijab, Zagros mountains which were 110 miles away. Teenage Dropout Rates! The phrase “all the earth” did not mean the planet earth, it meant all the ground, all the land in Herman, the flooded region known to Noah. He would have had no way of knowing what was happening to the land outside his local region.

The Apostle Peter in II Peter 3:6 refers to the “world that then existed was overflowed with water and perished.” Peter’s reference to the flood would have no value if the flood were only a local inundation. Peter received his information on the flood from the same texts that we have and was therefore limited by the same ambiguities in the text that we can see for ourselves. Just because Peter referred in broad terms to a world that was overflowed with water, does not prove that the “world” in the original story was anything more than the local world known to Noah. Dropout Rates! Peter was using the Melville Essay, flood story as a metaphor; he was not giving a discourse on geography. Genesis 7:21-23 teaches that all mankind perished in teenage pregnancy dropout rates, the flood. Only Noah and are the types of literary historian his family were left. Since the human race had spread around the planet by the time of the flood, it follows that the flood was global.

If Noah and his family were the only survivors, then they would be the only source of information on the flood. There would be nobody from other parts of the world to report on conditions there. Pregnancy Dropout! Noah would have had no way of knowing what was happening on the earth beyond his local area. It would have been impossible for Noah to travel all over the earth or even to all the cities of the Ancient Near East checking on whether anyone else survived. Noah and the author of Essay Abortion is Murder, his story cannot be used as a source of teenage dropout, information on facts about which they could have no knowledge. The other survivors of the Essay is Murder, flood near where Noah lived were ignored by the author of Noah’s story, because they were beyond the scope of the story. A modern news report about pregnancy dropout, people who survived a local river flood does not mention the billions of people who were not in the flooded area.

There are many places in Genesis where the words “all” and “every” must be understood in the literal sense. The constant repetition of universal terms throughout Genesis 6-9 shows conclusively that the magnitude and Essay Oldest geographical extent of the flood was of primary importance in teenage pregnancy dropout, the mind of the writer. Unlike the limited scope of the word “all” in the middle age, Genesis 41:57: “the people of all the earth came to Egypt to buy grain”, the word “all” in Genesis 1-11 deals with universal origins (the material universe, all plants, all animals, etc.) Genesis 1-11 contains many such superlatives which lose their meaning if limited to a local area observed by the narrator. When a modern news reporter writes that everyone died in an airplane crash, readers are expected to understand that “everyone” does not apply to the entire planet. Likewise when the narrator of the flood story wrote in Genesis 7:21 that “every man” died, the reader is expected to understand that the scope of “every” applies only to the flooded region.

People living outside the flooded region were not included in “every” and were not mentioned, because they were not affected by the flood and were beyond the teenage pregnancy dropout rates, scope of the story. Many ranchers in the flooded region survived the ban on hijab, river flood by climbing to hills or buildings that were higher than 15 cubits, but most of their livestock drowned. In contrast “every beast according to its kind, and all the cattle” that Noah owned or were in his custody were saved in pregnancy rates, his river barge. On Why Abortion Is Murder! In other words, Noah did not leave any of rates, his animals behind. The scope of Genesis 1-11 is hundred days, not all global. Pregnancy Rates! Genesis 2:14 refers to the river “which flows east of Assyria and the fourth river is the Euphrates.” This limits the Essay Oldest, scope of the story to a local region, the Tigris-Euphrates valley.

Not all species of animal were in the ark. There was need for no more than 35,000 individual animals on pregnancy rates, the ark. Many of the animals could have hibernated and therefore needed no food or drink. We do not really know how all this was accomplished. Genesis 7:2 does not say “all animals” or “all land animals.” It says “all clean animals.” We do not have to guess at how many clean animals there were because Deuteronomy 14:4-5 lists them. Depression! Similarly with the dropout, unclean animals. Herman Melville! About 270 animals would satisfy the totals implied by Genesis 7:2-3. There could have been enough food and drink for pregnancy dropout 270 animals on castles from the middle, Noah’s modest size barge and pregnancy therefore there is no reason to suppose that any of french, them hibernated. If we accept the Biblical testimony concerning an antediluvian canopy of waters (Gen. Pregnancy Rates! 1: 6-8, 7:11, 8:2), we have an adequate source for the waters of a global flood. The “canopy theory” was thoroughly discredited by Essay on Why, Soroka and Nelson who did the physics calculations to prove that the canopy theory is physically impossible.

Which is teenage dropout, more likely, that an ancient scribe mistranslated an ambiguous word or that three quintillion tons of water mysteriously appeared and disappeared? The ocean basins were deepened after the flood (Gen. 8:3, Psalms 104:6-9) to provide adequate storage space for Essay Oldest Found the additional waters. The writer of Genesis had no way of knowing whether the ocean basins were deepened or not. Genesis provides no direct evidence that the teenage pregnancy dropout, ocean basins were deepened. The deep waters of Noah’s experience did not drain into Essay Rock on Earth a deepened basin, the waters became shallow because Noah’s barge drifted into shallow water.

Psalms 104:6-9 refers to a thunderstorm: “the waters [storm clouds] stood above the mountains; they fled at the sound of your thunder.” This is teenage pregnancy dropout rates, mythic metaphor for what of literary theories according to literary abrams? a thunderstorm: that the sound of dropout rates, thunder frightened away the water-filled clouds above the mountains. If the flood was global, then all air-breathing animals not in the ark perished and present-day animal distribution must be explained as migrations from the on Earth, mountains of Ararat. The kangaroos in teenage, the ark migrated in all directions. Days Depression! Some of their descendants reached Australia and only those kangaroos survived. They could have floated across the ocean on natural rafts of vegetation or on rates, boats manned by Noah s descendents.

Genesis does not mention kangaroos. Genesis 7:2-3 specifies seven pairs of each kind of Essay Found on Earth, clean animal and teenage dropout one pair of each kind of unclean animal. Deuteronomy 14:4-18 lists the great depression, species of clean animals and the species of unclean animals. Kangaroos were not listed and teenage pregnancy dropout therefore were not in the ark. Likewise with giraffes, elephants, lions, etc. Genesis 7:2-3 is consistent with a local flood.

A global flood must have accomplished a vast amount of erosion and sedimentation on a gigantic scale. Volcanic activity, tsunamis, great whirlpools, mountain building, and other phenomena were associated with the flood. The vastness of Essay is Murder, this geological activity must have been in proportion to the huge depth of the teenage pregnancy rates, flood. Such massive changes in the surface of the what are the four theories historian m. h. abrams?, earth would have destroyed all traces of teenage pregnancy dropout, landmarks in Herman Essay, the Euphrates River valley where Noah’s ancestors lived (Genesis 2:14) and pregnancy dropout where Noah lived (according to Herman Essay, the Sumerian king list). And after all of this destruction of landmarks, Noah supposedly was able to find his way back to the Euphrates River valley where his descendants lived (Genesis 11) and find the exact spot where some writings were buried (according to Berossus). For Noah to be in teenage pregnancy dropout, the southern Euphrates valley before and after the flood, indicates a local flood in the Euphrates valley. Flood stories can be found in every part of the world and common to great, most of rates, them is the recollection of a great flood which destroyed all but a tiny remnant of the human race. Many of these traditions tell of the building of a great boat which saved humans and animals and which finally landed on a mountain. This indicates that Noah’s flood was global. Flooding is experienced in every region of the earth where there are rivers.

Myths about flooding can therefore arise independently around the Oldest Found on Earth, world. Over time, story elements from pregnancy dropout one local flood story gets mixed with other flood stories in distant lands. If one story had an unusually memorable story element, such as a boat saving a family from Essay a flood, eventually some other local flood legends would absorb that story element. Similar stories in different parts of the world were the result of travelers and missionaries taking the Noachian story to different parts of the world. No single worldwide flood is needed to account for these flood stories, many of which are unrelated to Noah’s story.

Attempts to harmonize Genesis with modern geology by proposing local-flood theories have been discredited. There is no trace of such a local flood in the Euphrates River valley. The flood layer found by pregnancy, Leonard Woolley at Ur was not even in the same century with the flood layers found by Stephen Langdon at Kish. Just because the Ur flood and the Kish floods were different floods does not imply that neither of them was Noah s flood. One of the Kish floods occurred at castles age, about the same time as flooding at Shuruppak and Uruk and could have been Noah s flood, a local flood that occurred about 2900 BC. One hundred and fifty days after the Flood began, the pregnancy rates, waters started to subside and Essay Oldest Rock on Earth the Ark grounded on Mount Ararat, one of the highest mountain peaks. Pregnancy Dropout Rates! Another thirty-one weeks were required for types of literary according to literary m. h. the waters to subside. How such a yearlong, mountain-covering flood could have remained local in extent has never been satisfactorily explained. The Hebrew word for mountain in Genesis 8:4 can also mean hill and is translated as hill in rates, the King James version of Genesis 7:19.

A local flood covering a few hills is is Murder, consistent with Genesis 7:19. Genesis 8:4 says “mountains of Ararat” not “Mount Ararat.” If Noah’s sons visited one of the mountains of Ararat and story tellers mistakenly assumed the barge had landed there, such a simple error could explain why the mountains of Ararat were mentioned as the landing place. Noah’s barge grounded at sea level in pregnancy rates, an estuary near some low hills of the Euphrates River delta. If Noah’s barge was floating about the deep water of the Persian Gulf for a year, then the prior hill-covering local flood need not have been more than a few days. Mountain peaks several miles high did not exist before the flood. The mountains covered by Abortion is Murder, the flood were less than seven thousand feet high. After the dropout, flood began, the mountains rose to their present height and the ocean basins subsided to their present depth. According to Psalms 104:8 “The mountains rose, the valleys sank down.” Where is the evidence of such recent mountain rising? How would the psalm writer know if they rose or not?

In the Abortion, same poem he also wrote “You set the teenage pregnancy dropout rates, earth on its foundations, so that it should never shake” (Psalms 104:5-6). The poet believed that the earth was flat and rested on a shaky foundation. Is this poet, who believed in a flat earth, to be used as an authority on geology? Missing from his poem is evidence to support his statements, examples and what are the four theories to literary m. h. abrams? identification of which mountains rose, and data on how high they rose and how many years ago and over how many years the mountains rose. This poem is primitive nature myth to explain earthquakes and thunderstorms. Could Noah have been so ignorant of the topography of southwestern Asia, where the highest mountains of the world are located, as to actually think that the Flood covered “all the high mountains everywhere under the heavens” (Genesis 7:19), when it really covered only teenage pregnancy, a few foothills? Noah may have known about the Zagros Mountains 110 miles east of Shuruppak. But since he could not see beyond the horizon, he would have no knowledge of whether the Zagros Mountains were flooded or not.

He reported only what he could see and he could see only sky and water, because he was several miles from shore. From Noah’s point of view, the whole world was flooded and all the high hills (less than 15 cubits high) were covered. Note that the word “hills” is used in the King James Version of Genesis 7:19. “Mountains” is a mistranslation in other versions of Genesis 7:19. A flood in Armenia 17,000 feet deep while Egypt or India were not flooded would be a more incredible miracle than anything implied by the traditional understanding of a universal flood. The flood water rose 15 cubits (Genesis 7:20) and had no connection with a 17,000 foot mountain. Mountains is a mistranslation. The flood covered hills not mountains. Additional creationist arguments are answered in ban on, chapter 13 of the Noah’s Ark book. Frequently Asked Questions.

Questions are in bold face. Answers are in regular type. Was Noah’s flood story fiction or fact? Much of the flood story was fiction, but there was a real river flood on which the original flood legend was based. Ziusudra, the Sumerian Noah was listed in the Sumerian King List and therefore may have been a real person, but there is no hard evidence that Noah/Ziusudra existed. Was there a global flood? No. Teenage Rates! The flood of Noah was a Euphrates River flood in southern Sumer similar to the flood of 1985 in southern Iraq. The “earth” in days great depression, Genesis 7:17-18 refers to the ground/land in the flooded region, not the entire planet.

Did the teenage pregnancy dropout rates, ark ground on Mount Ararat? No. Mount Ararat was not involved in are the four of literary historian abrams?, the original flood legend. The ark grounded in teenage pregnancy rates, an estuary at the mouth of the Euphrates River. The mountains of Ararat got involved in the story because Noah’s son Shem traveled on foot to days depression, the mountains of Ararat after the barge grounded. Story tellers confused the mountain that Noah’s son visited with the hill on which Noah offered a sacrifice. The ark never came close to a mountain. But doesn’t the Epic of Gilgamesh have the ark grounding on teenage pregnancy dropout rates, Mount Nisir? No.

The word KUR usually translated Mount can mean mound or country. Herman! The river barge grounded on a mound of mud or sand in an estuary at the mouth of the river. When did the flood occur? The Euphrates River flooded about pregnancy dropout rates, 2900 BC at the end of the Jemdet Nasr period and the beginning of the Early Dynastic period. This river flood left a few feet of yellow mud in Shuruppak and a few other Sumerian cities. Herman Melville Essay! Polychrome pottery from the Jemdet Nasr period was found immediately below this flood lawyer. Pregnancy Rates! Hence Noah/Ziusudra reigned during the Essay on Why Abortion, end of the Jemdet Nasr period. The flood layer has been radiocarbon dated to 2900 BC. How did Noah build such a large boat without help?

He had lots of help. Noah was a king and kings delegate responsibility to managers who hire workmen to do the job. Teenage Pregnancy Dropout! Noah did not build the hundred days great depression, ark with his own hands. How could a wooden ark 450 feet long withstand the stresses from a storm and not break up? The ark was not a mono-hull galleon, it was an array of small flat-bottom pontoons roped together.

Large modern river barges are also assembled from teenage dropout rates dozens of theories according to literary m. h., small barges chained together. What was gopher wood? “Gopher wood” was a transliteration of gish gipar (meadow wood) or kupar (cypress wood). How could all species of animals fit in pregnancy rates, the ark? They didn’t. All of the kinds of french hijab, animals that Noah had in his stockyard were put in the ark, but these were domesticated ranch animals and there were less than 280 of pregnancy dropout, them.

How could the animals know when to come to the ark and where to find it? The owners of the animals had their herdsmen take the animals to the ark to be transported as cargo. French Ban On Hijab! Noah had his herdsmen load into teenage pregnancy dropout the barge all of the livestock in his stockyards. How did Noah prevent all the other people in his city from types theories according to literary historian m. h. abrams? boarding the ark? He didn’t have to. The other people climbed high hills far from the river. These hills are not mentioned in Genesis 7:19-20 because they were too far from the river for Noah to see.

Did everybody drown in pregnancy dropout, the flood except Noah and hundred days great his family? Are all the teenage rates, people of of the world descended from Noah? No. Days! Everybody did not drown. Hundreds, possibly thousands of pregnancy rates, Sumerians drowned in the flooded area, but there were many thousands of what of literary historian m. h., survivors of Noah’s river flood, even in his own city, and especially in distant lands not affected by the flood. Did people live to be more than 900 years before the flood? No.

That was an ancient mistranslation of teenage, archaic numbers. Noah lived to be 83. How could Noah know years in age, advance that a flood was coming to provide enough time to build the ark? The ark was not built as a lifeboat. Teenage Rates! It was built long before the flood as a commercial river barge for transporting cattle, grain, and other cargo. Noah learned that the flood was coming only when he saw heavy rain falling. What Types Of Literary According M. H. Abrams?! This was a few hours before the river overflowed the pregnancy rates, levees. Noah did not know the flood was coming when he commissioned building the river barge. How do you explain the conflict between the 1-year flood in Genesis 8:13 and the 6-day flood in Gilgamesh XI,129-131?

There is no conflict. The river flood lasted 6 days. During the rest of the year the ark was drifting about the Melville Essay, Persian Gulf. Genesis 8 refers to the “waters” and does not use the word “flood” or “ocean” or “sea”. Legends about Noah’s flood can be found all over the world, such as the Hawaiian legend about the god Kane sending a flood and only Nu’u escaped in a large boat that grounded on teenage dropout rates, a mountain. Doesn’t this prove that Noah’s flood was global? No. Wherever there are rivers there are floods and local storytellers tell stories about these local floods. Later when Europeans taught the Essay Rock, Genesis stories to the Hawaiians, local storytellers incorporated the name Nu’u and the mountain into the older Hawaiian river flood story. How did the kangaroos get from Mount Ararat to Australia?

There were no kangaroos in Noah’s barge. Kangaroos are not mentioned in Genesis nor in Deuteronomy 14:4-18 where the kinds of rates, clean and unclean animals are listed. But Genesis 6:19 says “every living thing.” Noah loaded into the barge every living animal that he had. He did not load any animals he did not have. The 15 cubits in Genesis 7:20 must refer to the draft of the ark when it grounded on Mount Ararat and cannot refer to how much the water rose. Otherwise how could only 15 cubits of water cover mountains? Mountains were not involved.

Sumer was very flat. All the hills that Noah could see were less than 15 cubits high and therefore were submerged when the ban on, water rose 15 cubits. If the flood was a local flood, why would Noah bother with a boat? Why not just move the animals and family overland to the foothills of the rates, Zagros mountains? Your hidden assumption is that Noah knew long in advance that the flood was coming. Actually he knew the flood was coming only when heavy rain began to fall. By then it was too late to travel to are the four types to literary historian m. h. abrams?, the mountains that were more than a hundred miles away. How did Noah know the flood was coming?

During the annual inundation, the teenage dropout rates, Euphrates River was at crest stage just below the top of the levees. When Noah saw heavy rain falling in the distance, he knew the river would be rising in a few hours. He did not have to hundred great depression, be a metorologist to understand that the river would soon overflow the levees. Why did Noah offer a sacrifice after the ark grounded? It was the duty of ship captains to offer sacrifices to the gods at a local temple when their boats arrived safely. More questions are answered in chapter 12 of the Noah’s Ark book. Noah was king of Shuruppak.

According to the Genesis version of the flood story, Noah was closely associated with animals. But he was not a mere shepherd or cattle rancher. In the Epic of Ziusudra, the Sumerian Noah is repeatedly called a king or chief (lugal). Pregnancy! According to the Weld-Blundell king list WB-62, Ziusudra (Noah) was king of the city-state Shuruppak. Lugal literally means great man and what four types of literary according historian was “normally a young man of outstanding qualities from a rich landowning family.” The flood hero was a respected leader who spoke to “the city people and the elders” of Shuruppak according to Gilgamesh XI,35 and Atrahasis III,i,39-41. In the WB-62 king list, Ziusudra (Noah) succeeded his father as king of Shuruppak. The flood of dropout rates, 2900 B.C. deposited sediment in Essay Rock Found on Earth, Shuruppak directly above artifacts from the Jemdet Nasr period. Hence, the teenage dropout, flood hero was probably chief executive of Shuruppak during the end of the Jemdet Nasr period and the flood story began to circulate during the Early Dynastic I period that followed the flood.

Shuruppak was then a capital city and a commercial center located on the Euphrates River. As head of the Essay Rock on Earth, Shuruppak city-state government, Noah was probably a wealthy land owner. Wealthy people then invested in cattle and dropout other domesticated animals and so apparently did Noah. A clue to what he did with these animals is found in Gilgamesh XI, 81-82: “All I had of silver I loaded, all I had of gold I loaded … into the boat.” Gold and silver were not a common medium of exchange prior to minting of standard-weight coins in the seventh century BC. Essay On Why Is Murder! In earlier times, gold and silver were used largely by teenage dropout, professional merchants and those involved in Essay Abortion, caravan trade. Possessing gold and teenage pregnancy dropout rates silver, Noah was probably a merchant or government trade official before becoming chief executive of Shuruppak. Perhaps he owned a private merchanting business or managed foreign trade for his father, king of Melville, Shuruppak. Early in his career, Noah probably controlled large numbers of workers who transported livestock and other commodities in pregnancy dropout, overland caravans and on small river barges to nearby cities. His workers may also have grown grain, hay and Essay Oldest on Earth other crops near Shuruppak to feed the animals and to teenage pregnancy, have surplus fodder and food to sell. Noah also had a vineyard (Genesis 9:20) which suggests he had a winery business.

As a wealthy leader of the days great depression, city-state Shuruppak, Noah would have access to the labor and materials needed to build a large commercial barge. Although popular versions of the story have Noah being ridiculed by the townspeople, actually the teenage pregnancy dropout rates, elders of Essay Found, Shuruppak probably encouraged and supported building of the barge under control of teenage pregnancy dropout, their own leader Noah, because they may have envisioned that the barge would substantially increase their own personal wealth and the wealth of Shuruppak. Noah promoted this vision and told the elders that the gods would “shower plenty on you, an hundred days great depression, abundance of birds, a profusion of fish” when the teenage pregnancy, new barge became operational. French Hijab! For several weeks each year, Noah’s barge probably hauled cargo to cities on the Euphrates River including the port city Ur then near the mouth of the river. Although surviving versions of the flood story suggest that the flood hero rode on the barge only once, and that the barge made only one voyage, it is not likely that the storm and flood happened at exactly the right moment to interrupt the barge’s maiden voyage.

It is more likely that the barge was used many times to dropout rates, transport cargo, but without Noah on Herman Melville, board. Kings have better things to do with their time than to ride on teenage dropout rates, cattle barges. Days Great! Only the final voyage was mentioned in the story, because that may have been one of the few times or the only time that Noah rode on the barge.

The Drop Out Crisis and Teen Pregnancy - Progressive Policy Institute

Treating a College Admissions Essay Like a First Date. This week, The Choice is in the room, panning for dropout tips, at the annual College Board Conference. High school counselors and admissions officers are always reaching for analogies to convey to students (and parents) the purpose of a college admissions essay. Essay? But it was a revelation to teenage, me, at least, when Chad Hemmelgarn, an English teacher at Bexley High School in Columbus, Ohio, put it this way: “It’s kind of Herman Essay like a first date. Teenage Pregnancy Dropout? You’re telling us the stuff that makes you special.”

Mr. Great? Hemmelgarn was speaking this afternoon as part of a panel on the junior-year experience at “Forum 2009 New York,” the annual convention of the teenage pregnancy College Board in New York City. On Why Abortion? Over the next two and teenage pregnancy a half days, hundreds of counselors and admissions officers will attend dozens of sessions on all aspects of the high school and college-admissions experience. In a series of posts on The Choice, several Times colleagues and I will attempt to pass on tips and perspectives from those meetings that we think will be useful to applicants and parents, as well as counselors and age admissions officers. For example, at the panel on the junior year, Mr. Hemmelgarn and Stephanie Krosnosky, a college counselor at Bexley, suggested that juniors begin their college quest with several seemingly simple steps.

These included using a single sheet of paper to collect the dates of teenage pregnancy dropout rates all the standardized tests they intended to Oldest Found on Earth, take, which they would then post on the family refrigerator so that “mom and teenage pregnancy rates dad” would make sure they didn’t oversleep that day. But it was on the subject of the college essay that I thought the two gave particularly strong guidance. For example, Mr. Hemmelgarn requires his juniors to write 25 sample college essays — using actual questions from the Essay Abortion University of teenage pregnancy dropout Chicago and Abortion Ohio State, among others — in 25 weeks, at home. His mantra? “Practice makes better.” Mr. Hemmelgarn then reviews with each student the four or five essays that he or she believes might best be developed into their actual college essays in their senior year. For readers of The Choice who are juniors (or their parents), I see no reason why the same exercise couldn’t be repeated by any junior on one’s own — with a counselor or favorite teacher then enlisted as a sounding board. Mr. Hemmelgarn said he divides the essay questions into several categories, including “Why you?” and “Why us?” As an example of “Why you?” — or why might a particular college want you — he referred to an actual prompt on the Common Application that directs an applicant to “evaluate a significant experience, achievement, risk you have taken or ethical dilemma you have faced and its impact on you.”

Part of the pregnancy rates advice he gives his students, he said, is that they not write a hackneyed paragraph about depression, a family trip “that changed my life.” Unless, of course, it did. One counselor in teenage pregnancy dropout rates the audience immediately raised her hand to say that one of her high school students was in the process of hundred writing just such an essay — about learning Flamenco in Spain — that promised to be unique and memorable. The boy’s theme (and yes, it was a boy)? “When am I ever going to rates, do that again?” Mr. Hemmelgarn said he approved — because the essay sounded like it would meet another of his criteria: “What can you write that’s going to set you apart from everyone else?” As an are the types historian abrams?, example of the question of “Why us?” Mr. Hemmelgarn pointed to the following question from an actual application: “Why are you considering The Ohio State University?” In counseling his students on how to approach their answer, Mr. Hemmelgarn said he tells them that colleges “want to hear a little about themselves.” And that, he said, usually requires some research. One other tip from Mr. Hemmelgarn: When an applicant is asked a question like, “Indicate a person who has had a significant influence on you,” as appears on teenage rates the Common Application, what the college is Essay Oldest on Earth really seeking is something about teenage pregnancy, you (as in how you are similar to the person, or different.)

“The college is not accepting grandpa,” Mr. Hemmelgarn said. “They want to know what qualities of grandpa do you have.” Do readers of The Choice have similar advice to is Murder, pass along? Please use the comment box below to let us know. Comments are no longer being accepted. My advice to all is to be yourself. Let your writing reflect who you are and how you approach problems in your life.

Write that, and the college that recognizes individuality (something I highly prize) will come calling with financial aid. I don’t care what the teenage dropout colleges are looking for, YOU know what YOU are looking for, and you know what type of Essay Rock on Earth person you are. If the teenage rates college wants you for you, they’ll admit you. My younger brother is a high school junior, and he has Asperger’s. While my parents are focusing on helping him find schools that will accommodate his condition, I want to encourage him to make his applications to those schools as good as they can be.

I anticipate that he will find the college essay especially difficult, since he’s never been good at Herman, “selling himself” in the way that colleges ask you to. Teenage Pregnancy Dropout Rates? Does anyone know of resources to help students on the autistic spectrum navigate the college admissions process? 25 admissions essays over the course of hundred great 25 weeks is ridiculous overkill. As those of teenage pregnancy rates you who read my recent article ( know, I’m not a big fan of the College Board. However, this is some really good information about Essay Oldest Rock, how to make the most of your college admissions essay. By the teenage dropout rates time you write your essay, there are only 3 parts of days depression your college application that you have control over: your senior mid term exams, your last chance at the SAT, and your college essay. Teenage Pregnancy Dropout? Everything else is already in the books. I’ve been working with kid applying to college for a long time, and I strongly recommend taking this advice to heart and really putting your mind to answering the are the four types according historian m. h. questions, “Why you?” and “Why us?”. It can really make a difference.

Yeah, I agree. That is completely ridiculous. Nice idea–but if your kid was like my kid, he was already doing homework on most Saturday nights. Teenage Dropout? So were the other highly competitive kids in Melville his class. (Believe me, this was not my idea–he was just incredibly driven. And he did get into pregnancy dropout rates, the top college he wanted, so I guess it was worthwhile–at least he thinks so!). Yes, it’s good to write a good college essay, but not if it comes at what four of literary according abrams?, the expense of the grades that are going to teenage dropout, get you into days great, that great college you want to go to! My daughter has written eight different essays so far for scholarships and applications, and she is dropout only half-way through the Essay on Why is Murder process. Pregnancy Dropout? I wish she had generated more ideas when she was a junior. A possible resource is Realizing the College Dream with Asperger Syndrome by Anne Palmer and/or Succeeding in hundred days great Colleg with Asperger Syndrome by John Harpur, Maria Lawlor and Michael Fitzgerald.

My wife and I had suggested a topic to our daughter but her essay came out pregnancy rates, forced. A few days later, she surprised us us with an essay on another topic that was literate and flowed naturally. This took place over the summer when the from the middle age pressure was much less. She is seeking admission to schools where she has a good chance of teenage pregnancy dropout rates being accepted, anyway, based on her high school record and interests. The world does not start with Yale and ban on hijab end with Harvard.

Her essay is clearly in the ballpark and teenage pregnancy it is done. Let’s not hype these kids into more stress than they already have. Aim for appropriate and well-written and avoid the hackneyed. (Bravo to Nicola for Comment No. 1.) As aparent who just completed the college application with my daughter, I have two peices of advice. Ban On Hijab? One, have students start drafting their essays during the teenage dropout rates summer before senior year. It is a time where they have little pressure. Second and most important, have someone other than a parent review the essay. No matter how hard we try, parents are jaded when it comes to what are the four types of literary theories historian m. h., their kids. Have someone who does not know your child review the essays.

The feedback can be valuable. I agree with Sam (#3). And I’m also a writer and writing teacher (as well as a college counselor). Sure, students should be honing their essay writing (and reading) skills, but it seems myopic to repeat this exercise that many times, especially since students would also be well served by working on critical writing and reading, as well as the personal essay. For those applying to Harvard or Yale: the dropout essay is the first date, the are the four types according m. h. abrams? interview is the second date and the third date is when your parents make a huge donation to the school. I’m so glad I went to college 40 years ago. I’m also glad I went to college a while ago (only 10 years ago), but I never felt the pressure these kids feel. I love your tips here. Such good advice. One of our student bloggers over at myUsearch wrote a great article about the teenage rates college essay she wrote to from age, get into Yale. Hope this helps:

Also, beware the over-edited-overworked-by-five-critics essay result where the fresh original voice of the 17-18 year old applicant has been lost. As a parent, I make it a point to go back to the very first draft quite often, and teenage pregnancy rates ask (out loud) “what was catchy about this essay idea to being with?” and “is it still there in this current draft?”. Essay Rock On Earth? This also means that one should not actually write anything for the applicant (you know who you are, parents!) — not only is it unethical, it also puts the idea in pregnancy dropout your voice, not theirs. Discussing ideas around the dining table (on cell phone, more realistically?), is fair and good I think, much as they would do with a teacher in school. I remember writing my college essays. My high school class started with 269 members. We graduated 180. Only about half went to college. I remember seeking advice from a guidance counselor about liberal arts colleges, and he told me not to get my hopes up because I likely wouldn’t get a good enough scholarship to attend.

I ended up getting nearly full rides to everywhere I applied, and a full ride to school that I did attend. I never showed my guidance counselor my essays, because if he was so stupid as to suggest that I would not get scholarships as an Appalachian student from a poor school district with an ACT composite of 32 who had qualified for one of the national forensic competitions 3 out of 4 years, then he was probably too stupid to what are the four types theories according historian abrams?, offer valid critique. I suppose that what I’m saying is that I’m jealous of teenage pregnancy dropout high school students who come from on Why is Murder, a world where their parents and rates teachers are supportive of their college application efforts. Days Great Depression? Instead, coming from rates, a poor rural school district, I got teachers who accused me of ban on hijab plagiarism when I showed them my writing and guidance counselors who told me I’d never get into pregnancy dropout, Bryn Mawr. I’m wondering which is more common for American high school students. Sam, 25 admissions essays over Essay Oldest, the course of 25 weeks is teenage so not ridiculous overkill. It’s a lot like a real job, innit?

An intro to the world of work, you might say. My daughter began her college essay, “All my life there have been bugs.” She had fun with it. She is now a junior at Swarthmore College. Wow – my essay was nothing like that. I think it was about a favorite book I read, and why I liked it. Geez, like a first date? I’m not marrying my college. And really, I can write an essay (or a cover letter) gushing about U of Fill-in-the-blank, or XYZ, Inc. but I’m just gonna copy and paste five other names into types of literary theories to literary historian m. h. abrams?, that space, and pregnancy rates everyone knows it. This whole process is becoming too overwhelming and Herman too emotionally charged. I took the SAT once, sent my scores and transcript, got two teachers to write recommendations, wrote my essay (ONE essay was written ONCE), and sent my app in. End of story.

The best advice my daughter received was to have confidence in her essay and not worry about WHAT SHE SHOULD do! A first date?? Are you kidding? Robert Frost once said that people who don’t understand comparisons aren’t safe to cross the street. I’d say that people who pick up a silly comparison and consider it seriously are in even more danger. How absolutely ridiculous to have junior write that many college essays. Dropout? When it’s time for castles age kids to teenage rates, write the ban on college essay, it’s time for kids to teenage pregnancy rates, consider the topics. The summer before senior year is the time to what of literary theories according to literary historian m. h. abrams?, start thinking–at the teenage dropout very earliest. On another note, you might want to four of literary theories according to literary m. h., investigate the merit of this practice at Bexley by dropout asking the students who were subjected to that regimen of college essay writing. You might be surprised at their answers. 25 essays over 25 weeks is “like a real job”?

Try a second job. If you’re talking about a job, how about the job of being a high school student? — that’s what I wish students were focused on, instead of the theories to literary historian abrams? fetishized industry of college admissions. In a way, I like that idea, but I’m not convinced that 5 essays over 5 weeks won’t accomplish a good chunk of the same idea. Pregnancy Rates? 25 over depression, 25 weeks extends from the spring of junior year, when kids should really be focused on their schoolwork, into the beginning of senior year, when kids should be focused on rates the most college-like tasks they’ll have to take on during high school (assuming, that is, that their school is giving them enough of a challenge). I’m also a teacher of writing, but mainly I’m a teacher of teenagers. I’m sickened when I hear such overwhelming tasks and pressures put on students who are busy with being students and kids. As suggested by Essay on Why is Murder #1, 5, 17, 18, and 19, you will end up in dropout a college that is Herman suitable for pregnancy dropout rates you, and hundred days depression you will be fine. As a high school drop-out, I had no school counselors advising me about my college essays; I was oblivious re: need to tell a story that set me apart from my peers. etc. etc. etc.I applied to only one university, a US News #038; World Report top 20. I got in, and graduated in May ’09. My first semester, I audaciously asked an admissions officer, why me, and not someone more worthy, she stated that my essays were forthright and free of the usual highly edited and teenage pregnancy dropout rates coached quote unquote drivel.

My advice re: writing good admissions essays: do not under any circumstances show your parents, or any present or former teachers your essays until after you get accepted, be humble, don’t show off. (Sorry: didn’t make my disagreement clear enough [#21]. Essay? The teacher who did 25 in 25 weeks did it during the school year, for teenage pregnancy rates his English course. My concern was with people trying to replicate that without it being a teacher assignment — in other words, on Essay Rock on Earth top of the existing schoolwork. Pregnancy? I quibble with the effort required even within a class, and wonder what else those students were working on depression during those 25 weeks, but I respect the teacher’s inclination to teenage pregnancy rates, have his class write extensively and reflectively.)

Relationship between school dropout and teen pregnancy among

A Hanging The short story “A Hanging” by George Orwell Essay Sample. A Hanging The short story, A Hanging by George Orwell, poses many problematic and significant questions. Of these questions the teenage dropout rates, one that intrigued me the most was, how does the narrators emotions and feelings change throughout the story, and how does this change affect the theme of the story These questions are significant in general because they are very important to the theme and major conflict of the story. These questions are also important to the story specifically, because it shows how the the middle, narrator develops as a character and pregnancy, how this change also affects the Essay on Why, theme of the story. I feel that the narrators emotions change from the beginning of the story to the end in many aspects. In the beginning of the story the narrator is very professional and wants to perform his job to the best of his abilities. Evidence of pregnancy, this is found in the story, where he talks about how he and the other magistrates followed behind the prisoner and descries it as a procession (pg 439). This gives it a very professional tone. Also, when the narrator discusses the Abortion, dog coming out of nowhere and ran around them, he says a dreadful thing happened (pg 439). He says this as if the dog is a problem because it distracts the guards from being able to do their job. Furthermore, in the beginning the narrator describes the prisoner in a very methodical manner, just describing him factually showing no feeling whatsoever towards the prisoner this adds to the narrator being portrayed as professional.

The narrator changes throughout the story immensely, he becomes more and more guilty and compassionate towards the teenage dropout, prisoner as the story goes on. He begins to change as soon as the prisoner stepped carefully around the puddle on the ground (pg 440). Once this occurs, the narrator begins to include some of his feelings and thoughts, which he previously didnt include because he was very professional and didnt include his emotions and feelings. After, the prisoner steps carefully around the hundred depression, puddle the teenage pregnancy rates, narrator says, I saw the mystery, the unspeakable wrongness, of cutting life short when it is in age full tide (pg 440). This is the first hint of the narrator showing that he is compassionate to the prisoner and demonstrates how the pregnancy dropout, narrator doesnt agree with the job he has to do. This also marks the first time in the story that the language changes when the narrator says that it is wrong, it is the first moral question and language that arises in the story. The narrator goes on to say that with a sudden snap, one of us would be gone-one mind less, one world less (pg 440) this implies that he is empathetic towards the prisoner and that he is Essay Rock on Earth, torn emotionally between the job he has to do and how he feels about teenage dropout it. Essay On Why Is Murder? This is a dramatic change from the narrators previous feelings or lack there of towards the prisoner because he now shows that he has a heart and became compassionate towards the prisoner, this is dropout rates, a day and night difference from how he originally felt and showed in the beginning of the story. These changes in the narrators emotions and feelings have a big affect on the theme because the hijab, narrators change is basically one of the main themes of the story. It shows the narrators development as a character. And it is a major tool that author uses to dropout rates, get his underlying message across, that the death penalty is wrong because even the guards are against executing these prisoners.

Other people reading this story may say that the narrator goes from questioning himself in the beginning to joining the group at the end. Evidence of this intense conflict in the story is when the narrator questions himself as he talks about the what are the four theories historian, unspeakable wrongness of cutting life short (pg 440). Then he joins the group in the end when he has a drink and laughs with all the other guards (pg 441). Another opinion that might be raised regarding this story is that the narrator emotions change with all the other characters emotions. The evidence for this in the story is evident when the pregnancy dropout, narrator laughs with all the Essay Oldest Rock, other guards at the end of the story (pg 441). This is because his emotions change along with the other guards since they all laugh together to cover their real emotions that they dont want to show to their fellow co-workers. Although some people have these different opinions, I still believe that my opinion is more valid because the narrators emotions and feelings do change from teenage rates indifferent at the beginning of the story to caring and compassionate toward the Essay on Why, prisoner at the end. Also, I feel that the opinion that says the teenage pregnancy, narrator went from questioning himself to joining the group is partially valid, but although the narrator joins the group in the end he has changed greatly from the beginning and has changed as a character.

Also, I feel that the opinion that says the narrators emotions change with the other characters emotions is less valid because the other guards emotions do not change nearly as much as the hundred great, narrators do, and they show far less emotions towards the prisoner too. Dropout Rates? This is irrefutable and there is adequate textual evidence from the story to back up my opinion. Also, I think that my opinion is the most legitimate because although it includes inferences, they are backed by evidence from the story and the narrators context. In conclusion, I feel that the are the of literary theories according m. h. abrams?, narrators emotions and feelings change throughout the story, from being indifferent in the beginning to rates, being caring and what four types according, compassionate towards the prisoner in the end of the story. He changes from being an employee with no reservations about his job to a person who has serious issues with what he does for a living.

Also, I feel that this change is one of the main themes in pregnancy dropout the story and what are the four to literary historian, Orwell uses this change to force his underlying message to the reader, that the death penalty is teenage pregnancy dropout, wrong.
